Gregg up from a muddy dive
It’s that time again. This weekend, May 5th & 6th, is the Vermont Tough Mudder Challenge. Gregg Visi, from DirayTV’s Account Team, and Ryan Campbell, from our Media Team, are participating in the New England Tough Mudder event which is designed to inspire participants and help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
“I first ran the Tough Mudder last May at Mt. Snow in Vermont,” said Ryan. “My friend planned to go and thought it would be great motivation to get back in shape and I had no idea how much fun I was going to have.”
Ryan & Colleen before the start
Joining Ryan’s team again this year is Colleen Klages who works for AE Television Networks. “It’s a great team race that really tests your limits, mentally and physically,” said Colleen. “You never know how far you can go unless you test yourself.”
When the race was over, all Gregg could muster up was, “What was I thinking when I signed up for this…” But, that didn’t stop him from getting ready for this year’s event. Ryan and Gregg are headed up to Vermont this weekend, but they will be on different teams. Teams are the most important part of the Tough Mudder and each participant recites a pledge that puts teamwork and camaraderie before individuals. It’s not a race, but a challenge and each team member must help the other complete the course and overcome fears.
All the training and hard work that goes into the Tough Mudder is nothing compared to what our American Soldiers go through in order to defend our great country, especially our wounded service members. One of the main reasons Tough Mudder was created is to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project which helps honor and empower wounded warriors returning from duty. To date, the Tough Mudder has raised over 3 million dollars for this cause. DirayTV is proud to contribute and donate to the Tough Mudders and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Let’s cheer Gregg, Ryan and Colleen on as they head to this year’s challenge: Go teams!
