As the owners of Diray Media, being part of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is more than just a certification—it’s a testament to the women who make our company what it is today. Our experiences and perspectives make us more sensitive to the challenges women face in business. Managing careers and home is already challenging and we strive to create an environment where everyone can have balance and make a difference. We, Nancy, Sofia, and Tricia, are incredibly proud to lead a business that not only embraces women in leadership but actively uplifts and empowers them every day. This International Women’s Day, we want to shine a light on the incredible women of Diray Media—their stories, their strength, and the impact they make.
We asked the women of Diray Media to share their insights on career growth, resilience, and what it means to be a woman in this industry. Their words speak volumes about the dedication, perseverance, and camaraderie that define our team.
Strength in Advice
One of the most valuable things we gain from the women around us is wisdom.

Tracey shared a lesson in courage and honesty: “Give the clients what they ask for, but more importantly, tell them what they need to know—even if it means having a hard conversation.” Meanwhile, Mia emphasized the power of self-confidence: “Be confident in yourself and your work.”
Paige, a driving force in our marketing efforts, shared advice that has shaped her career: “Own your voice and your ideas—don’t wait for permission to speak up. One of my mentors once told me that if I have a seat at the table, I should use it. That advice has stuck with me and shaped the way I approach every opportunity.”
Corrina echoed a similar sentiment: “Speak up, even if your voice shakes.” She recalled early career moments where she hesitated before sharing her thoughts, only to realize that confidence is built through action.

Lisa reminds us to embrace the journey rather than stress about the destination: “Don’t feel like you should know exactly what your career trajectory will be as soon as you enter the workforce. The experiences you will have along the way will help evolve your path, so take advantage of the opportunities that speak to you.”
Challenges & Triumphs
Women in business continue to face unique challenges, but their resilience is unmatched.
For Mia, the challenge has been about earning trust and proving herself: “As a woman, I feel that we need to always go the extra step to have people feel confident in us and trust us.”
Marian, a testament to perseverance, shared her experience balancing a career while being a single mother: “When things have to be done, you make it happen.”
Jen echoed a similar sentiment, saying her biggest challenge has been finding the balance between work and family. She’s proud of building a workplace environment where team members feel comfortable turning to her for guidance and support.

Kaitlin’s biggest challenge? Being let go. But instead of letting it define her, she saw it as a chance to grow: “I always thought it would be a huge problem, but in reality, it was a blessing and turned me into a much more positive, uplifting person!”
Inspiration and Advocacy
When we look to the women who have paved the way before us, the stories are nothing short of inspiring.
For Marian and Jen, their mothers were their biggest inspirations—strong, hardworking women who defied expectations and sacrificed to create better futures for their families.

Jen also highlighted an unsung female hero: “Martha Stewart! She was the original ‘influencer’ and really the first woman to take her interests and build a successful, long-lasting brand.”
Corrina recently found inspiration in Frida Kahlo’s legacy, recognizing her as an artist whose immense contributions to feminism and modern art deserve more appreciation.
Leanne shared what International Women’s Day means to her: “It’s a day to recognize the women who have paved the way and made a difference by overcoming obstacles. Being part of a women-owned company inspires me and gives me hope that we will continue to knock down barriers, leaving an impact for future generations.”
Paige believes in making space for other women to thrive: “By making sure their voices are heard. Whether it’s amplifying their ideas in meetings, supporting their career growth, or just being a sounding board, I believe in creating space for other women to shine. Success is better when we lift each other up!”
Lisa spoke about how she advocates for women in the workplace: “Observing & listening are keys to advocating effectively. Recognizing the accomplishments of others—no matter the scale—builds confidence and morale while preparing them for future challenges.”
Empowering the Next Generation
As we continue to push forward, we want to lift the next generation of women in business. The advice from our team?
Jen: “Trust your gut and speak your mind.”
Lisa: “Be open to evolving your career. Opportunities that speak to you will guide your path.”
Kaitlin: “I have seen a lot more women taking over large managerial roles in companies, and I hope to continue to see this happen!”

Steph adds: “Don’t be afraid to stand out. Speak up in meetings, ask for what you deserve, and go after opportunities—even if you don’t feel completely ready. Being uncomfortable is the best way to grow!”
A Celebration of Womanhood
Of course, we can’t talk about being women without embracing the fun, joy, and energy that comes with it.
From our go-to confidence boosters (like blasting Wannabe by the Spice Girls or 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton) to our favorite “girl dinners” (omelets, popcorn & wine, and pasta with martinis), these little moments keep us connected. Paige’s pre-presentation ritual? “A good pump-up song (probably something Beyoncé), a deep breath, and a reminder that I know my stuff. Confidence comes from preparation, so I always make sure I’ve done my homework and can walk in ready to own the room.”

Corrina’s take on “girl dinner”? “Survival Mode—a bag of chips, some hummus, and a side of ‘I’ll cook tomorrow’—but somehow, prosecco makes it feel like an elevated dining experience!”
And if we could plan an all-girls office getaway? Get ready for Turks & Caicos, Dubai, or simply relaxing on a beach, as Michelle suggests.
Looking Ahead
International Women’s Day is about celebrating how far we’ve come while recognizing the work still left to do. At Diray Media, we are proud to be a women-owned business, supporting and empowering each other every step of the way.
Here’s to the women who lead, inspire, and drive change—not just today, but every day.
